John Smith launched the 200 Club monthly draw at our March branch meeting. The Club aims to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK and is an opportunity for everyone connected with Parkinson’s to support the work of the charity.
John said “this is a good opportunity to raise greater Parkinson’s awareness among our families, friends and neighbours while asking them to help raise funds towards essential Parkinson’s research and support”.
Each month, the total of all £5 subscriptions paid into the Club is divided 60% to Parkinson’s UK and 40% to the prize fund. Half of the prize fund goes to the first prize winner (up to £150), a quarter goes to the second prize winner (up to £75) and the remainder of the prize fund is divided into multiple third prizes (up to £25 each).
“200 Club membership only costs 16 pence a day – just over a pound a week – and as well as raising a considerable amount of money on an ongoing basis for Parkinson’s UK, members will be having a bit of fun”, explained John.
The first draw will be held at the branch meeting on 26th May but don’t worry if you miss that, because you can join at any time and you will be entered into the following draw.
John thanked Trevor Owen and his patient and very understanding wife, Margaret, for his work in producing the leaflet and developing this website.
