Keeping in Touch (KIT)

Finding it hard to get out?

Miss doing things you enjoyed and meeting others?

We have teamed up with Enrych, a local charity, to match you up with a like-minded volunteer with similar interests who will visit you once a week or fortnight.

You can enjoy sharing an activity, hobby or skill together. Or go out to places of interest. Or perhaps just chat about what’s going on in our branch so that you can keep in touch.

Enrych pairs adults with disabilities with a volunteer partner so that they can enjoy leisure and learning activities together. It connects people, to help overcome the isolation that many experience as a result of their condition.

After meeting you first, to hear about you and your interests, Enrych will advertise for a like-minded volunteer to visit you. What makes our partnership with Enrych a bit different is that our branch will also advertise for volunteers, with the hope that our more active members will be able to support our less active members.

Noticed someone hasn’t been coming to branch meetings or activities recently?

Do let Hugh Brown (see below) know and he will arrange to contact them to see if we can help.

Like to volunteer to visit someone with Parkinson’s when they’re less able to get out?

Please keep an eye open for adverts on our branch website here.

Adverts are also enclosed with our newsletter and on leaflets in our meetings. Contact details for Enrych are included in all adverts.

Contact Hugh Brown on 01494 533579 if you want to find out more about Enrych, need a self-referral form or would like us to help with a referral to them.
