A news report from John Grainger …
Wycombe Area MG Owners Club (WAMGOC) members have selected our branch as their charity of the year and will be fundraising for us at some of their events. We were nominated by our branch members Ian and June Campbell who have an MG sports car and are members of WAMGOC.
On 6 April 2016, Keith Howell from our branch went to a WAMGOC monthly meeting at The Gate, Bryants Bottom to talk to them about our branch and how we use donations.
First fundraising event
An extract from the WAMGOC April 2016 newsletter describes their “Spring Opener” as follows:
“The event is to take place on Sunday 24th April 2016. The start point will be The Boot at Bledlow Ridge (Chinnor Rd, Bledlow Ridge, High Wycombe HP14 4AW) where coffee and bacon rolls/sandwiches will be available at about £6 per head.
“The proposed meet time is 10:30 with vehicles moving off from 11:00 and arriving at the finish point from 12:00 to 12:45. The event is free to members, but a £5 donation to the WAMGOC charity (Amersham and High Wycombe Parkinson’s UK), will be encouraged.
“The run is approximately 40 miles in length and will finish at The Old Fisherman in Shabbington.”
WAMGOC members would be pleased to welcome any of our branch members at the start or finish of the event. If anyone wishes to do so, please let Keith Howell (01494 864351) or John Grainger (01494 715530) know in advance so that WAMGOC can let either of the hostelries involved about any increase in expected numbers.
