Monthly Meetings
We warmly welcome anyone in our area affected by Parkinson’s to come along to our branch meetings:
When?
The meetings are held on the second Wednesday of most months (not August and December). Meetings start at 2 pm with refreshments available from 1.30 pm
Parking
There is free parking on-site but car registrations must be logged on a screen in the Reception area
Public Transport.
The venue is roughly a ten minute walk from Amersham Railway Station and local buses from High Wycombe, Chesham and Beaconsfield stop close by.
Timetable for meeting
- The Chair will open the meeting at 2 pm with brief branch announcements
- Our 200 club draw then takes place – and the lucky winners announced!
- This is followed by a talk/presentation of up to 50 minutes usually on a topic suggested by members
- We chat over tea and coffee until the meeting closes at around 3.30 pm
(Parkinson’s UK advisory leaflets and information on our branch activities are also available each month)
The monthly meeting is an ideal opportunity to meet other people affected by Parkinson’s and find out what has helped them deal with the diagnosis, live with the condition and maybe pick up some useful tips to help you cope. There is information on all our activities so that you can talk to someone who had first-hand knowledge of how the activity you may be interested in could help you.
Carers may also find it helpful to talk to other carers with shared experiences and challenges.
Remember – You don’t have to be a member to come to our monthly meetings – they’re open to anyone in our area affected by Parkinson’s, including partners, family members and carers.
We have a summer lunch in June and a Christmas Lunch in December – both for members only.
Our programme includes internal and external speakers covering a range of general interest topics. You don’t have to be a member to come to our monthly meetings – they’re open to anyone in our area affected by Parkinson’s, including partners, family members and carers.
Venue
